First prize winner of numerous piano competitions, among others: Aber D. Unger Piano Competition, Sarah Stulman Zierler Piano Competition, Peggy Yale Gordon Piano Competition, Peggy Friedmann Piano Competition, Henry Sanborn Piano Competition, including Award for Outstanding Performance for three consecutive years from Yayasan Pendidikan Musik (YPM) Music School and Talent Award from Towson University. 1999 finalist and prize winner of the St. Charles International Piano Competition in Chicago , USA. As a concert pianist, has represented Indonesia in the 1991 HongKong International Performing Arts Festival and actively performed in numerous major cities, both in Indonesia and the USA, as a solo piano recitalist, a piano soloist with orchestra, a chamber musician and a piano collaborator. As a composer, his works have been performed in various concerts, nationally and abroad. Among others, his work for soprano and piano Kelana Jiwa was premiered at the UNICEF gala concert in Baltimore , USA and his choral work Rhapsodi Tanah Sunda was premiere at the Indonesian Coffee Hour in Bloomington , USA . His other choral work Indonesia Jaya Selamanya won the 2005 composition competition held by the Indonesian Cultural and Tourism Department while his solo piano works Dua Cuplikan Singkat Kenangan have become the 2006 obligatory pieces for the final level examinations at the YPM Music School. |
